This lesson shows how to markup text (highlight, underline or strike-through). The video at the end of the lesson shows the process in action.
To highlight text select the text you want to highlight.
With the text selected, click one of the markup buttons in the toolbar. The left-most button highlights the text, the middle button underlines it and the right-most button strikes through the text. (Alternatively you can use keyboard shortcuts to markup the selected text. These are resp: ctrl-cmd-H, ctrl-cmd-U, ctrl-cmd-S.)
The result of adding a highlight markup.
The markup commands are sticky. This means that when one of the markup styles has been selected (the relevant button in the toolbar is depressed), you can markup any text simply by selecting it: Drag the mouse over the text to be marked, and when you release the drag the selected text is automatically marked up.
To stop marking up selected text click the selected markup button to toggle it off.
