Getting Started

All of the basic commands needed to get started can be found in the tool bar. Toolbar

  1. Click the Start Location button and select the folder you wish to catalog. This can be any folder on any internal or external volume. The full path can be seen in the "Folder Options" tab.
  2. Click the Save Location button to select the location where you would like the log file to be saved. This can be on any writable volume. The default file name contains the name of the of the folder being cataloged and the date, but you can change this to whatever you need it to be. The full path and catalog file name can be seen in the Folder Options tab
  3. Click the "Start" button to begin cataloging. The cataloging process status can be viewed in the status bar underneath the tool bar and in the Status Log tab.
  4. If the cataloging needs to be cancelled at any time, click the "Cancel" button.
  5. If the locations need to be reset, click the "Reset" button.
  6. Once the cataloging has completed, the Status Log can be saved to any writable volume.
  7. The new catalog is saved as a tab-delimited file automatically in the location chosen in Step 2.
