Make sure you have Java installed and in your path

SportsSynch will not run if you do not have java installed.

Set up your Device

Set your Audio Source

Most commonly this will be a radio. Use a male to male audio cable to route the audio from your radio's line out or head phone jack to your device's line in or mic input. If you have both a line in and mic input use the mic port.  If you are using an AM radio for your source the longer cable the better as your computer's electronics will interfere with the AM signal. If using an AM signal, you may need to try several radios before you find one that works well as simply connecting the radio to the PC will sometimes cause too much interference for some AM radios. If your device has a combination mic/headphone port for use with a headset you will need to purchase a splitter cable so that you can route your audio input into the mic and your audio out to your speakers.

Set your Audio Output

Plug in speakers to your device's lineout or head phone jack. If you are using a laptop with built in speakers these will work, however they are usually too weak to enjoy while watching the game on a big screen TV.

Set up Sports Synch

Set Audio Input/Output in the software

SportsSynch will default to using your device's Primary Sound Capture Driver for input and Primary Sound Driver for output. These should work in most cases. If you have a web cam installed SportsSynch may use it's microphe as an input. The easiest solution to correct this problem is to disconnect the web cam and restart SportsSynch. If things aren't working you can try changing the mixers by clicking on the Settings menu at the top left and selecting Set Audio Mixers. This will open a window where you can select new Input and Output mixers from drop down menus. Click the "Reset Mixers" button after you have selected new mixers. It will take a few seconds to restart using the new mixers. Once things are working click the red X in the right corner to close the settings form.

Set Audio Delay

To delay the audio running through your device simply drag the slider bar to the right. The approximate delay seconds are listed underneath the slider bar. The number above the bar can be used for more precise settings. Each increment of 1 is approximately equal to .2 seconds. Sports Synch defaults to a very small delay when the slider is at its minimum setting.
