Why Am I Asked For An Administrator's Password?

When you make certain changes using Visage, an authentication dialog may appear in order to request an administrator's password.  For example, if you change your login panel text message, you will be asked to authenticate if you haven't already.  Authentication is necessary because Visage modifies files that are owned by "root" in order to accomplish some customizations.  You need to authenticate in order to prove that you have sufficient privileges to perform the task you requested.  This authentication may seem annoying, but it is actually one of the great features of Visage.  Without Visage, it would be much more difficult to perform many of the customizations that Visage allows.  Without Visage, you would have to login as root, use the Terminal to sudo as root, or boot into OS 9.x.  Aren't you glad you have Visage?
